Mal Kelapa Gading

Mal Kelapa Gading had its humble beginnings in 1990 with total retail space of 32,000sqm. Then known as Kelapa Gading Plaza, the mall was anchored by Diamond department store and supermarket and quickly became a favourite among the neighbouring community.

With an ever-growing demand for greater variety of products and services, the mall went through a phase 2 extension in 1995 which added 40.000 m2 to the total area. By then, the mall had 250 tenants and was serving the neighborhoods around Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, East Jakarta, and some of Bekasi.

On April 10, 2003, Mal Kelapa Gading opened phase 3 to the public, bringing the total retail area up to 130,000sqm, making it one of the largest shopping malls in Jakarta. Now anchored by Sogo and Diamon department store and supermarket, Mal Kelapa Gading brings together over 600 tenants providing shoppers with fashion, food and entertainment under one roof.

With the addition of Mal Kelapa Gading 3, the mall evolved from being a family mall to a sophisticated shopper’s haven with specialized shopping zones of local and International brands catering to the most discerning consumer tastes:

BRIDAL WORLD : A one stop shopping zone for all wedding needs from bridal gowns to invitations, making it easier for couples to plan their big day.

FASHION HUB : A teenage shopping area with clothes, shoes and unique accessories made especially for young people.

GOURMET WALK : An cosy hangout area containing excellent cafés set in the charm of an European sidewalk atmosphere.

FOOD TEMPTATION : With an area of 6000sqm and 1600 seating capacity, this is currently the biggest indoor food court in Indonesia.

The mall also provides entertainment facilities including a Gading 21 cinema, Timezone games gallery and a 24-lane bowling Viva bowling alley.
